- Graduated from Wofford College with a B.A. in History in 1975.
- Recieved DMD from Medical College of Ga. in 1978.
- Served 2 years in US Navy Dental Corps. in San Diego, Ca.
- Member of the American Dental Association.
- Member and former president of Eastern District, Georgia Dental Association.
- Married with three daughters and living in Athens, Ga.
